Job summary

Egis is seeking a dynamic Project Planner to join its transportation team in Ireland. The Planner will develop and maintain robust project controls, integrating cost and schedule, and support project managers with timely programme submissions.

The role requires leadership, collaboration and strong communication under pressure. Based in Ireland, you can base in Dublin, Cork, Castlebar or Limerick, with travel as required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Transportation, Infrastructure or Civil Engineering projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of planning software.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project is essential.
  • Other scheduling software experience is a plus.
  • Proven track record of delivering major projects within a contractor environment.
  • Excellent people management, communication and client management abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel for project assignments.
  • Excellent time management, prioritisation and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and methodical working style.
  • Adaptability in a dynamic environment with a proactive, can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the scope and work breakdown structure for the delivery programme.
  • Work with Project Manager to ensure programme, budget and risk baselines are integrated.
  • Support timely submissions of programmes.
  • Manage programme comments and ensure timely close out.
  • Produce and submit Programme communications on Primavera P6 and coordinate with Client/Contractor.
  • Liaise with Design Team to track design deliverables and impacts on procurement and construction.
  • Coordinate with Quality & Assurance to manage handover deliverables.
  • Align assurance processes to the programme and track deliverables.
  • Implement Earned Value Analysis by integrating cost and programme parameters.
  • Coordinate with commercial team on KPI metrics and provide analysis on deviations.
  • Carry out time impact assessments and chair programme workshops.
  • Integrate Tender Event Schedule with the programme and track long lead items.
  • Update Programme for Actual progress on site in line with Site Shift Reports.

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our growing team as a Project Planner at Egis. The Planner is responsible for carrying out planning duties across a range of Egis projects in Ireland in our transportation team.

The role will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust control of the programme. This includes providing active support to the project and programme team in all planning and reporting activities. This role would suit a collaborative individual with great leadership and communication skills who enjoys multi-tasking, loves a busy working environment and thrives under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the scope and work breakdown structure for the different parts of the delivery programme, including the capture of key assumptions.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure that the programme, budget and risk baselines are consistent and integrated.
  • Support the Project Managers in making timely submissions of programmes
  • Manage and control the programme comments made by the Client/Contractor and ensure timely close out.
  • Produce and submit Programme communications on Primavera P6 and manage the regular follow up discussions with the Client/Contractor to ensure we maintain an Accepted Programme throughout the duration of the project.
  • Liaise with the Design Team and ensure design deliverables are managed and tracked regularly on the programme including the impact on dependant tasks, procurement and construction.
  • Liaise with the Quality & Assurance team on a continuous basis and ensure hand over deliverables are managed and tracked regularly in the programme.
  • Align the technical and construction Assurance processes to the programme and track and control deliverables.
  • Implement Earned Value Analysis (EVA) by integrating cost and programme parameters.
  • Coordinate with the commercial team and align on the Key Performance Indicators including SPI and CPI. Provide critical analysis when deviation from the baseline occurs.
  • Carry out time impact assessment for the changes in the contract and the change control process.
  • Able to manage and chair a programme workshop to review time impact assessments with the wider team and propose mitigation measures.
  • Able to integrate the Tender Event Schedule with the programme and implement logic reflecting procurement relationship with design and construction. Track long lead items from the programme including any impact to the budget, Target Price and installation.
  • Update Programme for Actual progress on site in line with the Site Shift Reports.
What do we need from you
  • Previous experience in Transportation, Infrastructure or Civil Engineering projects
  • Experience in a project planning position
  • Excellent knowledge of planning software
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project is essential.
  • Other scheduling software experience is a plus.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering major projects within a contractor environment.
  • Excellent people management and development skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and client management abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project assignments.
  • Excellent time management, prioritisation, and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Degree in Project Management, Engineering or a related field
  • Chartered project manager or similar and member of a related professional body
