Job summary

Vision Contracting Ltd, based in Ireland and operating in Limerick, is seeking a Project Manager to lead complex construction projects. The role involves full lifecycle management from initiation through handover, ensuring strict adherence to Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.

You will liaise with Clients, Sub-contractors, Senior Engineers and Quantity Surveyors, manage multiple sites, and drive on-time, on-budget delivery while fostering a collaborative, non-hierarchical team culture.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Trade qualification or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within construction or civil engineering.
  • Certifications related to contractual management or role-specific areas.
  • Demonstrated commitment to CPD.
  • Understanding of dynamic project environments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee comprehensive management of one large project or multiple sites.
  • Ensure delivery on time, within budget, to high standards.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
  • Manage on-site sub-contractors, engineers, foremen and QS.
  • Plan weekly programmes and report progress.
  • Lead site team to meet milestones and budgets.
  • Collaborate with Contracts Manager to align site programme with commercial objectives.
  • Foster a strong Health & Safety culture and hold management meetings.
  • Manage day-to-day lifecycle from initiation to handover.

Job Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management of one large project or multiple sites, ensuring the effective implementation of Vision Contracting Ltd (VCL) processes and procedures. This role plays a critical part in delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards, while strictly adhering to the company’s Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards. For large, multi-sectional, or highly complex projects, the Project Manager may be on-site as part of a broader team. However, in most cases, they take full responsibility for overseeing and successfully delivering multiple sites.

Key Activities
  • Liaise with various staff and senior stakeholders, including Clients, Sub-contractors, Senior Engineer, Foreman, and Quantity Surveyors.
  • Take responsibility for the successful delivery of the project through leadership, management, and technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage sub-contractors, engineering, and operational staff on site.
  • Plan weekly work programmes and produce weekly reports on project progress.
  • Oversee the site team to ensure key milestones are met.
  • Manage the project design process while working alongside the commercial team.
  • Work closely with the Contracts Manager and report progress to ensure the site programme aligns with budget and commercial objectives.
  • Continuously reinforce the Health & Safety culture, striving for an accident-free site.
  • Attend and chair weekly management meetings.
  • Manage the complete day-to-day lifecycle of the project, from initial stages through to handover.

Education & Experience

  • Demonstrated commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
