Job summary

Hero Recruitment is seeking a Project Manager – Automation for a leading Medical & Life Sciences automation equipment manufacturer in Limerick. You will lead cross-functional automation projects from initiation through delivery, coordinating Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain and Quality to keep scope, schedule and cost on track.

The role offers mentorship of junior PMs, ownership of budgets and risk registers, and close collaboration with Fabrication, Assembly and Production Control to align

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years’ project management experience in automation or equipment manufacturing.
• Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent practical experience.
• Solid grounding in machining, fabrication, assembly, or manufacturing processes.
• Comfortable with ERP systems and PM tools (Smartsheet, MS Project).
• PMP or equivalent, Lean/CI exposure is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Own medium-to-large automation projects end-to-end, scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
• Act as primary customer interface for updates, decisions, and issue resolution.
• Build and manage project budgets, risk registers, and communication plans.
• Partner with Fabrication, Assembly, and Production Control to keep project and operational plans aligned.
• Mentoring junior PMs/coordinators as the team grows.

We're recruiting on behalf of a leading Medical & Life Sciences automation equipment manufacturer in Limerick for a Project Manager to join their PMO team.

This role sits at the centre of the business, leading cross‑functional automation projects from initiation through delivery, working closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality to keep schedule, cost, and quality on track for complex custom equipment programmes.

What you'll be doing:

• Owning medium‑to‑large automation projects end‑to‑end, scope, schedule, cost, and quality
• Acting as primary customer interface for updates, decisions, and issue resolution
