Job summary

Purcell Construction is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead commercial construction projects in Ireland. You will coordinate construction to meet programme milestones, manage site teams and subcontractors, and ensure quality workmanship and timely handovers.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years in a similar role, a degree in construction/engineering or a trades background, and strong organisational skills to manage people and day-to-day activities effectively.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years in a similar commercial construction role.
• Degree in construction/engineering or proven trades background.
• Highly organised with ability to manage people and daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Site management of projects in line with company policies and procedures.
• Coordinate construction to meet programme and handover milestones.
• Direct site staff, personnel and all subcontractors.
• Monitor quality of workmanship and materials.
• Coordinate with Contracts Manager, Site Engineers and Services Coordinator for timely information.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, regulations and good practice.
• Review drawings for errors and coordinate with Design Team promptly.

The Role

• Site Management of projects, in compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Coordinate construction of projects to meet programme and to ensure handover of project / any phased handover, on time
• Manage and direct site staff, direct personnel and all subcontractors
• Monitor construction, with regards to quality of workmanship and materials.
• Coordinate and liaise with Contracts Manager, Site Engineers and Services Coordinator to ensure that all subcontractors and site personnel have timely and accurate information.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, building regulations and good building practice
• Check and understand all drawings and specifications. Ensure that any errors / omissions are formally communicated to the Design Team in a timely manner

The Candidate

• You will have a minimum of 10 years in a similar role in commercial construction.
• You will be degree qualified in a construction / engineering discipline or have a qualified trades background.
• You will be highly organised and capable of managing people and daily activities.
