Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team in Galway. This role will support projects within the Interventional Cardiology and Vascular Therapies (ICVT) business unit and play a key role in delivering strategic business objectives.
The successful candidate will lead a portfolio of sustaining projects for commercialised single-use medical devices, working across multiple functions, business units, and manufacturing sites. Project scope will vary and may involve all stages of the project lifecycle, from initial planning through to implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams across multiple sites and manage several projects simultaneously.
- Deliver projects involving:
- Material replacement initiatives
- Cost reduction programmes
- Geographic market expansion
- Quality issue resolution
- Regulatory and standards compliance activities
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, and resources.
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement comprehensive project plans.
- Monitor progress against key business objectives and project milestones.
- Drive project prioritisation in collaboration with functional managers and leadership teams.
- Ensure successful project execution from initiation through to completion.
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and coordinate diverse, cross-functional project teams.
- Foster strong working relationships with functional leaders and stakeholders.
- Support team development and provide performance feedback to functional managers.
- Build engagement, accountability, and ownership within project teams.
Technical & Risk Management
- Manage technical challenges associated with project delivery.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
- Communicate technical issues and drive resolution where required.
Process Improvement
- Ensure projects are executed in line with company policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements across multiple projects and teams.
Communication & Reporting
- Act as the key liaison between project teams and senior leadership.
- Lead project communications, status reporting, meeting management, issue tracking, and performance metrics.
- Influence and drive resolution of cross-functional challenges.
- Degree qualification, ideally in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years' experience in project management or a related role.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional project teams.
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience within the medical device industry or another highly regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and processes.
- Ability to navigate and communicate complex functional processes.
- Experience identifying and managing project risks effectively.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to adapt to changing business priorities.
