Job summary

Job description

Purpose & Accountability
  • Planning & Management: document project scope, schedule and monitor delivery; organise and lead the Governance Fora; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage and monitor the programme’s cost/budget, project cash flow/invoicing; manage and correct deviations from plans; and communicate with relevant stakeholders.
  • Dependency Management: coordinate early identification & management of external dependencies across the Programme.
  • Risk Management: communicate and manage Programme risks and issues.
  • Programme Roadmap: maintain a standardised visualisation of the roadmap of inflight deliverables and roadmap of what is coming up for onward portfolio reporting and tracking.
  • Monitoring Outcomes: monitor benefits realisation in the form of key outcome metrics.
  • Business Case & Financial Governance: coordinate and manage the development and implementation of the business case and financial management to project close out.
  • Product Owner and IT Partnership: partner with Product Owner and Solutions Delivery Manager in the overall achievement of programme/project outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement: partner with Product Owner, Solutions Delivery Manager to evolve governance processes and ways of working.
Decision Making

Decision Making: Identify & makes decisions that have a significant project impact and escalated decisions that cannot be resolved within the project to the agreed governance forums.

Problem Solving

Problem Solving: Identifies, drives and leads problem solving and issue management for the project deliverables. Accountable for project team adherence to project methodology and ensures any deviations are addressed. Influences Project Management methodology and policy improvements.

Collaboration

Collaboration: Collaborates across the organisation & externally, including external regulatory bodies and stakeholders. Identifies and manages cross functional interdependencies.

Level of Influence

Level of Influence: Influences and negotiates project outcomes with senior stakeholders, often across multiple functions. Prepares and presents analysis, insights and recommendation to assist agreed governance forums with decision making.

Experience / Knowledge
  • 10+ yrs experience in a project management in financial services. Experience of delivery of complex projects and strong presentation skills.
  • Highly experienced in financial, stakeholder and people Management.
  • Experience of working on projects through the full lifecycle (from project initiation to closing).
Leadership or Technical

Ability to positively engage and develop relationships with multiple stakeholders. Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty.

Qualifications

Primary degree. Project Management qualification (PMBOK/Prince2).
