Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd seeks a Project Hydrogeologist to join our Cork team, expanding hydrogeology expertise across renewables, infrastructure, power, industrial and built environment projects, combining fieldwork with interpretation and reporting.

You'll plan field programmes, supervise borehole drilling, logging and well installation, interpret data, and contribute to Conceptual Site Models and water-related risk assessments. Hybrid working and a competitive package are offered.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geoscience, Hydrogeology, Hydrology or a related discipline.
• Experience of EIA water assessments, Conceptual Site Models and field programmes would be particularly relevant.
• Strong technical reporting skills and some understanding of water permitting or licensing are also important.
• GIS experience would be useful, and a full clean driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and undertake hydrogeological field programmes.
• Supervise borehole drilling, geological logging and well installation.
• Perform hydrogeological testing and groundwater/surface water monitoring.
• Interpret data and develop Conceptual Site Models.
• Carry out hydrogeological risk assessments and impact appraisals.
• Do hydrogeological calculations, groundwater modelling and reporting.
• Prepare water chapters for Environmental Impact Assessments.
• Support water permitting and licensing work.
• Manage project delivery and liaise with clients and stakeholders.
