Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd in Cork is seeking a Project Hydrogeologist to work on diverse hydrogeology projects across renewables, infrastructure and built environment, combining fieldwork with assessment and reporting.

You will plan field programmes, supervise borehole work, interpret data, and contribute to water-related permitting and licensing, with hybrid/flexible working and a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Experience in hydrogeology or hydrology in a consultancy or similar setting.
• Degree in Geoscience, Hydrogeology, Hydrology or related field.
• Experience with EIA water assessments and field programmes is a plus.
• GIS experience and a full clean driving licence are required.

Responsibilities

• Planning and undertaking hydrogeological field programmes.
• Supervising borehole drilling, logging and well installation.
• Hydrogeological testing and groundwater/surface water monitoring.
• Interpreting data and developing Conceptual Site Models.
• Hydrogeological risk assessments and impact appraisals.
• Hydrogeological calculations, groundwater modelling and reporting.
• Preparing water chapters for Environmental Impact Assessments.
• Supporting water permitting and licensing work.
• Managing project delivery and liaising with clients and stakeholders.
