Job summary

BMD is seeking a Project Engineer to provide mechanical engineering support to the construction team in Athlone. You will plan, coordinate and oversee mechanical works to ensure on-time delivery, safety, and full system handover to the client.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction, familiarity with Navis Works, MS Office, and a proactive, detail‑oriented team player capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction or equivalent.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• Proficient in Navis Works or equivalent.
• MSIC training desirable.
• Min 2 years relevant work placement as mechanical or project engineer.
• Experience in process industry piping fabrication, installation and testing.
• Strong communicator, written and verbal.
• Diligent with attention to quality.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee mechanical works to meet project specs.
• Prepare RAMS/Method Statements and liaise with client representatives.
• Attend client, sub-contractor and internal meetings as required.
• Review designs for constructability and track RFIs/changes.
• Liaise with workshops on prefabrication and coordinate test requirements.
• Assist cost, schedule and quality control with stakeholders.
