Job summary

AbbVie seeks a seasoned energy management professional to lead site activities, ensuring ISO 50001 compliance and driving energy performance improvements. You will develop business cases, coordinate audits, and align energy initiatives with corporate strategy.

The role requires 5+ years as a Project Engineer, 3+ years in pharma, and strong PM, commissioning and validation experience to deliver impact across the site in Sligo.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience as a Project Engineer.
• 3+ years of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry.
• Experience in Project Management, Energy Management, Energy Projects, Commissioning and Validation, equipment reliability and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead site Energy Management activities and ensure compliance with ISO 50001.
• Prepare for and host external audits of the Energy Management system.
• Forecast energy demand and monitor energy performance and cost improvements.
• Prepare Capital LRPs for Energy Projects aligned with Corporate and site Energy Strategy.
• Manage assigned projects through PMO processes with budgeting and execution.
• Collaborate with EHS to ensure safe execution and compliance with standards.
• Identify and mitigate impacts of project work with stakeholders and contractors.
• Support Global Engineering and Sustainability teams to deliver initiatives and targets.
• Aim for Right First Time delivery of assigned projects.

Purpose:

To leadand direct EnergyManagement andSustainability for the sitetoachieve AbbVieCorporate andsite goals.Todevelop,manage & execute projects within the Strategic Initiatives Group. Todefine scope of projects, identify technical solutions and build business cases to support funding decisions.To ensure continual compliance with the policies relating to Personnel, Quality, Engineering, Safety and Finance.

Responsibilities:

Management and leadership of site Energy Management activities.

Maintenance ofEnergy Management at MHR, Sligoincompliance withISO 50001. Preparing forand hosting successfulexternal audits of the Energy Managementsystem.

Promote Energy awareness across the organization.

ForecastEnergydemand profilefor annual FinancialPlanand Energy Procurement.Monitor andreport onenergyperformance andenergy cost improvements (CI)to site andcorporate level stakeholders.

PrepareCapital LRP for Energy Projectsalignedwith Corporate and site Energy Strategy.

Preparation of feasibility studiesfor Energy Projectsand Cost Improvements.

Preparation of Requests for Capital Expenditure (RCE) forEnergy Projects.

Management ofassignedprojects in accordance with the defined Project Management Office (PMO) Processthrough planning,execution, budgetary controlandcompletion.

Collaborate closely with EHS colleagues to plan and safely executeprojects.Ensuring compliance withall EHS & E standards, procedures, policies and safe working practices.

Identify and mitigate all impacts of projectworkwith all stakeholders.

Management and negotiation of external contracts and contractors.

Work withinternal and external resourcestodeliverstrategicinitiatives and goals.

SupportGlobal Engineeringand Sustainability teams to deliver initiatives, projects and targets.

Contribute toGlobal Engineeringand EHSforums,e.g.Energy and EngineeringeCOPs etc.

Ensure a “Right First Time” delivery of assignedprojects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree/ Masters Degree: Engineering or Relevant Discipline

5years plus of Experience as aProject Engineer

3years plus ofrelevant experiencein the Pharmaceutical Industry

Experience inProjectManagement,EnergyManagement, Energy Projects,Commissioning andValidation, equipment reliability and continuous improvement.
