Job summary

The Rehab Group in Kilkenny is seeking a Programme Supervisor to promote independent living and community integration, based in a large Resource Centre. You will supervise staff and assist the Manager in delivering high-quality, person-centred services to service users across locations as needed.

The role requires QQI Level 6 in health and social care or equivalent, and experience with adults with disabilities. A driving licence is preferable; travel across locations may be required.

Qualifications

  • QQI Level 6 in health and social care or equivalent.
  • Irish Sign Language highly desirable.
  • Minimum two years’ experience of working with adults with disabilities.
  • Experience designing and delivering individual programmes for people with disabilities or those who are marginalized.
  • Well-developed people management skills with proven leadership ability.
  • Full clean driving licence preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Build trusting relationships and communicate with service users to identify goals, strengths and needs.
  • Support service users to identify community supports and practical solutions to barriers.
  • Provide accessible information on community supports and ensure activities are monitored at a sustainable pace.

About the Role:

The purpose of the job is to promote and support independent living and community integration personal development and work opportunities for service users. The role will be based in a large Resource Centre. To supervise staff and to assist the Manager in the development, implementation and delivery of quality customer focused and cost effective community services to service users at an appropriate time and setting. This includes the provision of individual programme’s and activities to meet the needs, choices and abilities of service users in line with the HSE New Directions policy and guidelines. The role may require travel across locations and county.

What we’re looking for:
  • QQI level 6 in health and social care or equivalent.
  • Irish Sign Language highly desirable.
  • Minimum two years’ experience of working with adults with disabilities
  • Experience of the design and delivery of individual programmes for people with disabilities or those who are marginalized
  • Well-developed people management skills, with proven experience of building, leading and motivating a team.
  • Full Clean Driving Licence preferable
Your Responsibilities
  • Build trusting relationships and communication with service users, facilitating them to identify their goals, strengths and needs. Support service users to establish and enhance their natural support circle.
  • Supporting service users to identify the community based supports they would like to avail of and work with service users to identify practical solutions to any barriers to accessing these supports.
  • Provide service users with accessible information on available community based supports, ensuring all activities and supports are monitor and are maintained at an appropriate pace to ensure sustainability.

We offer a competitive starting salary of €19.68- €22.80 per Hour (Points 1-5 of the scale), based on qualifications and experience. The 12-point salary scale provides annual progression opportunities up to €28.26 per Hour.
