Job summary

The Rehab Group in Cork City is hiring a Community Support Worker on a permanent 39-hour contract. You will deliver individualized community support to people with intellectual, physical and mental health challenges, helping them participate in local activities and develop confidence, skills and independence.

Requirements include QQI Level 5 in Social Care or equivalent, a full clean driving licence, and practical experience. Knowledge of local community resources is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, implement, monitor and review appropriate educational, recreational and occupational programs within the community.
  • Ensure best practice in line with up-to-date research regarding Quality of Life improvements.
  • Liaise with families, the multidisciplinary team and key community-based personnel in pursuit of accessible community activities for service users.

Skills

QQI Level 5 in Social Care

Community Support Worker

Job Purpose

To assist in the delivery of individualized community support to a number of individuals with intellectual, physical and mental health challenges. Supporting individuals to be valued members of their local communities. Supporting individuals to optimize their emotional, social, occupational and learning experiences, through programmes offered within community. This role will also involve providing 1:1 support to an individual with social activities as well as working with groups in the community.

What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum of QQI Level 5 in Social Care, or equivalent
  • Full Clean Drivers Licence
  • Experience in the area of supporting individuals with intellectual, physical and mental health challenges.
  • Knowledge and experience of local community resources is highly desirable

Salary

Salary starting from point 1 €31,561.56 to point 11 €43,731.06 Pro Rata and is subject to negotiation depending on experience and qualification.
