Overview
The role is within the Capacity Planning team, responsible for compiling and issuing weekly production schedules to Operations while balancing demand against available capacity. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are used to proactively manage constraints, prioritise volume and respond to changes in demand or supply.
The position requires close cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Raw Materials, Quality, and Customer Service (amongst others) to confirm production plans, communicate impacts, and support on-time customer fulfilment. The role demands the ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and maintain a strong customer and results focus.
This is a temporary basis opportunity for up to 12 months.
Responsibilities
- Production Planning and Scheduling
- Review MRP requirements, develop production plans to meet these demands
- Review capacity utilization and manage volume to optimize use of available capacity across plants
- Develop detailed production schedules by work centre in line with capacity capabilities
- Create and release Process Orders on SAP in line with production plan for all manufacturing, filling and rework orders
- Determine and communicate Customer Order confirmation dates & quantities to the respective Customer Service Representative to ensure order fulfilment targets are met
- Complete reporting requirements for the team & businessInventory managementReview product freshness and determine potential usage of ageing product via allocations process
- Complete monthly excess and obsolescence inventory review and classify potential risk accordingly
- Identify inventory for disposal and cross change
- Control and compliance
- Develop and maintain GCS documentation and ensure full compliance
- Successfully complete SOX and GCS audits as required
- Information management
- Maintain planning master data as required
- Develop and maintain production order policies (Minimum & Maximum Batch sizes) to optimize plant efficiency and working capital requirements while ensuring product availability to meet Customer demands
- Training and documentationProvide cover as required across the planning area
- Ensure a comprehensive set of up-to-date training manuals are in place for each planning area
- Support the development and implementation of OH initiatives within the Planning and Inventory department and across the broader Supply Chain
- Support development of world class production planning processes and systems
- Actively look to engage & support Planning and Supply Chain projects as required
- Actively look to develop and improve Cross Function Engagement
- Support new product introductions through the provision of timely and accurate information to the NPI process
Qualifications
- Experience in use of SAP (ECC / APO for MRP).
- Analytical skills, with a proven ability to problem solve and make quick decisions
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
- Be capable of working effectively in a team environment
- Ability to manage multiple, complex tasks, with strong attention to detail
- Results orientated and commitment to achieving objectives; Ability to work on own initiative
- Excellent customer awareness and customer focus
- Third level qualification in Supply Chain or related discipline
- Proficient computer skills: MS Office specifically MS Excel
- Experience working in a FMCG environment
