Job summary

DURNINS FRUIT & VEG in Howthstown, Drumconrath, Co. Meath, is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead our fruit and vegetable manufacturing operations. The role offers a full-time, permanent position with a 39-hour week and a salary of €36,605 per annum.

You will plan production, oversee processing and packing, ensure HACCP/BRCGS compliance, manage costs and lead the production team to deliver high-quality output for our retail, catering and wholesale customers.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Production/Manufacturing Manager, preferably in food processing or fresh produce.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards (Level 2/3 Food Hygiene) and HACCP/BRCGS.
• Good leadership and team management skills.
• Commercial awareness and ability to drive efficiency and productivity.
• Flexible with availability, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily production line operations (potato processing, fresh vegetables, packing and prepared produce).
• Plan production schedules and oversee processes to maintain quality and presentation.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP/BRCGS).
• Control stock, costs, waste and overall profitability of production operations.
• Lead, train and motivate the production team.

Person Specification
