Job summary

Matrix Recruitment Group is assisting a respected engineering and manufacturing client in search of an experienced Production Manager. The role oversees a one-piece-flow, high-throughput manufacturing operation, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and productivity while coaching teams and driving continuous improvement.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance and Supply Chain to remove bottlenecks and optimise workflow, leveraging SAP to manage

What you need to know

Our client is a highly respected engineering and manufacturing business operating as part of a successful global organisation and is seeking an experienced Production Manager. This hands‑on role will lead teams within a high-throughput, one‑piece‑flow manufacturing environment, with responsibility for safety, quality, delivery, productivity, people development, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the production operation, creating a culture of accountability, engagement, and high performance.
• Lead production within a one‑piece‑flow environment, optimising workflow, labour utilisation, output, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Drive performance against key Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Productivity KPIs.
• Identify and eliminate operational constraints, bottlenecks, waste, and downtime while driving Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Develop production capability through coaching, training, performance management, and succession planning, while working closely with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and other key functions.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Production Manager or equivalent senior production leadership role, with strong supervisor experience, ideally within an engineering environment.
• Experience working within a one‑piece‑flow, high‑throughput or Lean manufacturing environment.
• Track record of improving productivity, efficiency, quality, delivery performance, and operational KPIs.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP or a comparable ERP system; SAP experience is particularly important for this position.
• Experience managing employee relations and developing high-performing production teams. A third‑level qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related discipline is desirable.
