We're looking for a reliable, hard-working Prep Chef to join the kitchen team at The SpitJack Limerick.
This is a prep-focused role in a busy brasserie kitchen. The SpitJack is built around a live rotisserie concept using quality Irish produce, and prep is the foundation everything else is built on. You'll be working alongside a structured brigade in a kitchen that runs on proper systems and clear standards — not chaos.
You'll be responsible for daily prep across multiple sections — butchery, vegetable prep, stocks, sauces, and mise en place for both brunch and dinner service. The lists are detailed, the standards are consistent, and the expectation is that prep is done properly and on time. If you take pride in a clean bench and a full fridge, you'll fit in here.
Starting from €14.50 per hour, dependent on experience
29 days paid holiday including bank holidays
Enhanced rates on Sundays and bank holidays
Staff meal every shift
50% discount dining with friends or family at our Limerick and Cork restaurants
Tips shared across the team
Cloud-based HACCP and digital compliance — less paperwork, more cooking
A clear path to progress if that's what you're looking for
Previous kitchen experience is preferred but we'll consider someone with the right attitude who's willing to learn and work hard. HACCP knowledge is a plus. You'll need to be reliable, physically able to handle a busy prep shift, and have full permission to work in the EU.
