Job summary

Hadfield Green is seeking a Product Engineer in Ireland to join a hybrid role with 1 day per week onsite in the Midlands. You will sit at the intersection of Product, Engineering and AI-enabled software development and decide what gets built while actively building a meaningful portion of it.

You’ll own product decisions across an established software platform, write precise specifications and prototype, test and ship using AI coding agents as a core part of your workflow.

Qualifications

• 5+ years across Product Management, Product Ownership, Engineering or a similarly accountable product role.
• Strong product judgement and experience deciding what should – and shouldn’t – get built.
• Enough technical ability to build working prototypes and contribute to production software.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or similar.
• The technical judgement to recognise when AI-generated output looks right but isn’t.
• Comfortable navigating a modern web/mobile codebase and working with data, including SQL or equivalent.
• A builder mentality – someone who would rather prototype, test and learn than spend weeks discussing an idea.

Hybrid, 1 day per week onsite in the Midlands

We’re working with a successful and growing Irish software company to hire a Product Engineer for a newly created role sitting at the intersection of Product, Engineering and AI-enabled software development.

This isn’t a traditional Product Manager role, and it isn’t a traditional Software Engineer role.

You’ll decide what gets built – and build a meaningful amount of it yourself.

You’ll own product decisions across an established software platform, write precise specifications and use modern AI coding agents to prototype, build, test and ship.

The technology environment includes Angular, Ionic/Capacitor, MySQL, AWS and an Nx monorepo. Exact stack experience isn’t essential.
