Job summary

Bentley Systems in Dublin seeks an experienced Product Counsel to help shape the legal strategy for our infrastructure software portfolio. You will partner with Product and Technology teams, assess regulatory risk, and translate complex requirements into practical guidance that protects the company while enabling innovation.

The role requires Ireland qualification, 8–12 years of in-house or equivalent experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Ireland-qualified solicitor or barrister with relevant experience.
• 8–12 years of legal experience, including in-house experience at a technology, SaaS, or engineering/infrastructure software company.
• Experience supporting global software products in privacy, data governance, IP, AI governance, cybersecurity, product compliance, cloud services, SaaS, APIs, or software licensing.
• Strong understanding of modern software development lifecycles.
• Proven ability to influence senior executives in a complex, matrixed organization.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product and Technology leadership across the product lifecycle, providing legal judgment.
• Translate product strategy and roadmap decisions into clear updates for LCA teams.
• Monitor emerging regulations and industry developments to identify implications for the roadmap.
• Offer practical, scalable legal guidance balancing risk with business objectives.
• Support alignment of product positioning, marketing claims, and contractual obligations.
