Job Description

Location: Dublin or London

Contract Type: 12-month fixed-term

Join our Procurement team and play a key role in delivering exciting renewable energy projects.

The Procurement & Supply Chain Manager will provide experienced, hands‑on support to the Procurement team during a 12‑month maternity leave period. The role combines project procurement delivery with strategic supply chain management, ensuring continuity across active tenders, contract negotiations, early‑stage project support and supplier engagement. Working across utility‑scale solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and grid connection infrastructure, you will coordinate closely with internal stakeholders and external contractors, suppliers and manufacturers. You will also support the day‑to‑day prioritisation and development of the Procurement team, while maintaining clear governance, reporting and handovers.

What You Will Do
  • Lead procurement planning and contracting strategies for assigned projects, aligning the approach with project objectives, delivery programmes, technical requirements and internal governance.
  • Manage end‑to‑end tender processes for EPC, ICP, equipment supply and associated construction services, including market engagement, tender documentation, bid clarification, evaluation, recommendation and negotiation.
  • Coordinate commercial and contractual input from Engineering, Construction, Development, Commercial, Legal and Finance to support timely and well‑governed procurement decisions.
  • Lead or support negotiations of complex, high‑value EPC, ICP and equipment supply agreements, with a focus on bankability, risk allocation, programme, payment profiles, warranties and performance security.
  • Develop and maintain supply chain strategies, category roadmaps and sourcing options for key technology categories, including modules, inverters, mounting structures, BESS, transformers and other major electrical equipment.
  • Monitor supplier capability, manufacturing capacity, delivery lead times, technology developments, price trends, cost drivers and relevant geopolitical or logistics risks.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with tier‑1 contractors, suppliers and manufacturers through regular commercial updates, technical workshops and performance discussions.
  • Provide procurement and supply chain inputs to business cases and financial models, including capex and opex assumptions, price forecasts, market intelligence and procurement programme considerations.
  • Produce clear procurement status reports, supply chain updates, market outlooks, tender recommendations and decision papers for project teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Support contract implementation and structured handover to project delivery teams, helping to resolve procurement‑related queries during design, construction, commissioning and contract close‑out.
  • Coordinate workload, priorities and interfaces across the Procurement team; provide practical guidance and mentoring to Procurement Managers while encouraging consistent ways of working.
  • Maintain procurement records, trackers, templates, lessons learned and governance controls so that activity is transparent, auditable and easy to transition at the end of the contract.
  • Undertake supplier, factory and project site visits where required across the UK, Ireland and Europe.
Your profile
What You Will Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Construction, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain, Commercial Management or a related discipline; an additional procurement or business qualification is advantageous.
  • Significant relevant experience in procurement, supply chain or commercial management within renewable IPP, energy, infrastructure or a comparable capital‑project environment.
  • Demonstrable experience procuring construction services and/or major equipment for utility‑scale solar PV, BESS and grid connection infrastructure.
  • Experience leading competitive tenders and negotiating complex, high‑value EPC, ICP, construction or equipment supply agreements.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy contract structures, project delivery interfaces, supply chain dynamics and key commercial risk areas.
  • Ability to translate market intelligence, technical information and commercial analysis into clear recommendations for project and investment decisions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills, with the confidence to work across disciplines and engage senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Practical leadership skills, including the ability to coordinate priorities, mentor colleagues and maintain momentum in a busy project environment.
  • Proactive, organised and self‑motivated, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team culture.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
