Job summary

HERO Recruitment in Galway is seeking a Weekend Shift Technician to support cutting-edge medical device manufacturing. You will troubleshoot equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and collaborate with a close-knit team to ensure safety and quality.

You will analyze equipment data, use SQL training to optimise performance, and contribute to yield improvements while communicating effectively with Engineering and Maintenance teams in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with electrical or mechanical troubleshooting is highly advantageous.
• A team player with effective communication skills.
• Comfortable with learning new systems and tools; SQL training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Support: Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, perform preventative maintenance, and escalating complex problems to Engineering or Maintenance teams when necessary.
• Yield Management: Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to investigate and resolve scrap and yield issues related to equipment and processes.
• Team Collaboration: Work as part of a close-knit team of approximately six Technicians and Production Core Teams across 3–4 key processes.
• System Utilisation: Record maintenance activities in internal systems, use PowerPoint for yield updates, and manage handovers via Teams and Excel.
• Database Interaction: Utilise SQL databases (training provided) to interact with equipment data and optimise performance.
• Commitment to Safety and Quality: Execute all tasks with the highest regard for safety standards and quality protocols.

What We’re Looking For

This role is ideal for individuals with a background in technical troubleshooting, maintenance, or manufacturing support. Prior experience in medical device manufacturing is beneficial but not essential.
