Job summary

Element Six in Ireland seeks a Process Engineering Manager to lead a team of process engineers and drive the strategic direction of engineering at the IEPRO site. You will oversee end-to-end manufacturing processes, implement FMEAC, and deliver improvements in quality, capacity, scrap reduction and process development.

With 7+ years engineering experience including senior leadership, you will coach teams, optimize processes, and partner with NPI to transfer robust processes to production.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in engineering or science.
• 7+ years engineering experience with 2+ years in a senior role.
• Proven leadership and the ability to make effective decisions.
• Lean and/or Six Sigma qualification with proven application.

Responsibilities

• Support attainment of key business metrics through engineering support for end-to-end manufacturing processes.
• Develop stable and capable manufacturing processes through a structured process development approach.
• Lead and drive the adoption of FMEAC methodology across Process Engineering and translate outputs into actions.
• Coach and develop engineering teams in effective use of FMEAC or equivalent.
• Lead and develop a team of process engineers.
• Provide clearly defined responsibilities and objectives aligned to strategic engineering goals.
• Contribute to business plan development through projects and savings (Quality, Capacity, Scrap reduction).
• Manage tasks and action plans related to customer queries.
• Lead scrap reduction within the value stream through data capture, analysis, and problem solving.
• Support value stream mapping input for business plan development.
• Provide weekly/monthly updates on process capability metrics to management.
• Support team problem solving and root-cause analysis.
• Assist day-to-day operations via pulse walks and timely action closures.
• Ensure timely reporting of project activities and on-time delivery.
• Collaborate with New Product Introduction to transfer robust processes to production.
• Work with Engineering Manager on strategic engineering goals and objectives.
• Support implementation of all engineering and plant strategic initiatives.

Job overview

Element Six would like to recruit for the position of Process Engineering Manager reporting to the site Engineering Manager. This role manages and leads a team of process engineers and is an exciting opportunity to play a critical part in the strategic Engineering direction for the IEPRO Site.

Duties and tasks

• Support attainment of key business metrics through the provision of engineering support for end-to-end manufacturing processes.
• Develop stable and capable manufacturing processes through a structured process development approach.
• Lead and drive the adoption of FMEAC methodology across Process Engineering, establishing a consistent and structured approach to identifying, assessing, and mitigating process risks. Ensure FMEAC outputs are translated into effective engineering actions and embedded within process development, continuous improvement, and change management activities.
• Demonstrated experience in the application of FMEAC or equivalent structured process risk-analysis methodologies, with the ability to coach and develop engineering teams in their effective use.
• Lead and develop a team of process engineers.
• Provide clearly defined responsibilities and objectives to team members in line with strategic engineering goals and objectives.
• Contribute to business plan development through the identification and execution of projects and savings in areas such as Quality and Capacity improvements and Scrap and Consumables reduction.
• Effectively manage tasks and action plans relating to customer queries.
• Lead a structured approach to scrap reduction within the value stream through structured data capture, analysis and problem solving.
• Provide process input into the value stream mapping process which is used to develop the business plan for the value stream.
• Provide updates to management on a weekly and monthly basis in relation to key process capability metrics.
• Provide support to the team with problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Support day-to-day operations through attendance at pulse walks and the timely closure of actions across the team.
• Provide timely and accurate reporting on project activities ensuring projects are delivered to agreed timelines.
• Collaborate with the New Product Introduction team to ensure robust, capable processes are transferred to production.
• Work with Engineering Manager to develop and implement strategic engineering Goals & Objectives.
• Support the implementation of all engineering and plant strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering / Science subject area.
• 7+ years proven engineering experience, with 2+ years proven experience in a senior role.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to make effective decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to understand technical issues and provide practical and efficient engineering solutions.
• Lean and/or Six Sigma qualification, with proven experience of application of knowledge.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments or projects with sound analytical, trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.
