Reports To: Senior Manager, Technical Operations
The Opportunity
We are looking for a highly motivated Process Development Technician to join our growing Technical Operations team. This role offers the opportunity to work at the interface of process development and commercial manufacturing, supporting the optimization, scale-up, and transfer of manufacturing processes within a regulated environment.
You will play a key role in developing laboratory-scale process models, investigating manufacturing challenges, and supporting technology transfer activities while collaborating closely with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute laboratory studies to support process development, optimization, validation, and scale-up activities.
- Develop and maintain laboratory-scale manufacturing models to improve process understanding and process control strategies.
- Perform experimental work using a range of analytical and laboratory techniques, including FTIR, NMR, UPLC/MS, extraction, purification, lyophilization, and autoclave technologies.
- Analyse experimental data and provide technical recommendations to support project objectives.
- Support feasibility assessments, process characterization, and process improvement initiatives.
- Assist with technology transfer activities from development to manufacturing and between manufacturing sites.
- Support manufacturing campaigns as a technical representative and subject matter expert when required.
- Author and review technical documentation including protocols, reports, batch records, investigations, and validation documents.
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and ensure compliance with GMP, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Support environmental, health, and safety initiatives and participate in risk assessments.
Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
- 1–2 years' experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, or manufacturing environment.
- Practical laboratory experience with analytical instrumentation and process development techniques.
- Strong scientific, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross‑functional teams.
- Experience in GMP‑regulated environments.
- Exposure to process scale‑up and technology transfer activities.
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations and process troubleshooting.
