Description

Meta designs, builds, leases, and operates some of the most innovative data centers globally, supporting them with 100% renewable energy to maintain net-zero emissions today and achieve net-zero across our supply chain by 2030. We are seeking an experienced and outgoing individual to join our Data Center Policy team on a fixed-term basis to support our strategic engagement on policy issues affecting data center operations in Europe.

The Public Policy Manager will monitor and research current policy issues, develop and manage campaign strategies for stakeholders and coalitions, including communication plans, outreach, timelines, and evaluation. Experience in government affairs, outreach strategies, and policies related to energy and sustainability is essential. The role involves close collaboration with policy, community development, and energy teams.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Support policy analysis and advocacy related to data centers and energy policies across Europe, ensuring alignment across teams.
2. Partner with internal teams and external consultants to identify emerging policy issues impacting data center operations.
3. Track and review legislation related to data centers and energy, consolidating feedback from stakeholders.
4. Prepare summaries and memos on relevant policies to support external engagement and internal alignment.
5. Collaborate with Data Center, Legal, Communications, and policy teams to develop responsible data center policies.
6. Research current and emerging public policy issues and thought leaders.
7. Coordinate with research, social media, creative, and media relations teams to execute campaign strategies effectively.
8. Manage client expectations while upholding standards of honesty and ethics, building trust and confidence.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience in internet technologies, security, privacy, safety, content moderation, and related policy environments
• Experience with government relations and policy issues
• Stakeholder engagement experience
• Experience managing cross-functional policy campaigns domestically and internationally
