Job summary

Merchants Quay Ireland (MQI) is seeking an Addiction Services Coordinator to oversee the IPS addiction service across multiple prison locations in Ireland. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, manage caseloads up to 15 clients, and ensure high-quality, evidence-based treatment aligned with IPS requirements.

The role focuses on continuous delivery, staff supervision, collaboration with prison management, and development of policies to improve service provision.

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree in counselling/psychotherapy, addiction, health, or social care.
• AC I or IACP accreditation.
• Supervisory/operational management experience.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities.
• Treat service users with dignity and respect.
• Proficient IT skills; willing to travel.
• Full driving license and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Report to Addiction Services Manager for supervision and appraisal.
• Directly manage and mentor counsellors, project workers and recovery educators.
• Caseload management with assessments, crisis interventions and care planning.
• Drive service delivery, data systems and compliance with policies.
• Represent MQI at IPS meetings and coordinate with external agencies.
• Support inductions and staff training; develop new initiatives and protocols.
• Assist with other duties as required by leadership.
