Job summary

Medtronic plc in Galway, Ireland, is hiring a Principal Equipment Engineer – Test Systems to lead industrialization of end‑of‑line test capability for complex assemblies. You will own the test‑system solution from requirements and measurement architecture through hardware/software integration, lab qualification, pilot deployment, and production transfer.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Test, Controls or related engineering field.
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, or 5 years with a Master’s degree, aligned with Principal Engineer responsibilities.
Strong background in manufacturing test systems and automation in production environments.
Experience with calibration, MSA, Gauge R&R, and measurement uncertainty.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end industrialization of end-of-line test systems from lab prototype to production release.
Define requirements, measurement architecture, test methods, and equipment specs.
Lead integration of fixtures, sensors, electrical hardware, and test software across lab, pilot line, and manufacturing.
Collaborate across engineering, quality, operations, and external suppliers to ensure scalable replication.
