Job summary

HubSpot is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to shape the future of release engineering within its Developer Acceleration group. You will operate at the intersection of large-scale distributed systems and agentic AI, building infrastructure that enables thousands of engineers to ship reliably and rapidly.

The role requires hands-on leadership, architectural excellence, and the ability to drive cross-team initiatives across build, test, and deploy pipelines.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building large-scale distributed systems with CI/CD and release engineering focus.
• Strong architectural instincts with emphasis on simplicity and long-term platform leverage.
• Experience operating at hyperscaler or platform-provider scale.
• Proven track record delivering cross-team technical initiatives with impact.
• Hands-on leader who writes, debugs, reviews, and ships.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical direction for the build, test, and deploy systems powering HubSpot software.
• Drive architectural decisions across pipeline design, test infrastructure, deployment orchestration, and developer ergonomics.
• Write production code and lead complex initiatives from idea to rollout.
• Design and implement AI-powered QA agents that run on every deploy to reduce risk in continuous delivery.
• Mentor teams and raise the architectural bar for platform work.
