Job summary

European Tech Recruit in Limerick, Ireland is seeking a Principal Automation Engineer to lead Rockwell/Allen-Bradley automation within a highly regulated biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The role offers ownership of critical automation systems and positions you as the site's subject matter expert for Rockwell technologies.

Qualifications

Degree in Engineering, Science or related technical discipline.
8+ years' experience with validated automation systems in regulated manufacturing.
Extensive hands-on experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley platforms.
Strong GMP, GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, CSV and data integrity knowledge.

Responsibilities

Act as site SME for Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI systems, providing guidance and troubleshooting.
Lead automation projects from concept through commissioning and handover.
Design, develop, maintain and optimise automation solutions using ControlLogix, Studio 5000, and FactoryTalk.
Manage change controls and ensure GMP compliance.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, IT/OT and external vendors.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
Participate in on-call support as required.
