Job summary

CompuStaff is seeking an experienced Principal/Lead Engineer to provide technical direction for an established software team in Galway. You will act as the technical point of contact, ensuring scalable, secure and maintainable solutions throughout the development lifecycle.

You'll mentor engineers, shape architecture decisions, and collaborate with Product and UX teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong software development experience as a senior/principal engineer or tech lead.
• Experience with .NET and React; React Native is a plus.
• Experience working with Azure and AWS for cloud-based SaaS apps.
• Experience developing and supporting cloud-based SaaS applications.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and modern engineering practices.
• Experience mentoring engineers and guiding technical teams.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex problems and make sound technical decisions.
• Strong communication skills with product and business stakeholders.
• Experience in an Agile development environment.
• Hands-on approach and genuine interest in technology.

What You'll Bring

• Strong software development experience, ideally as a Senior Engineer, Lead Engineer, Principal Engineer, Technical Lead or similar.
• Strong experience with .NET and React. React Native would be advantageous.
• Strong experience working with Azure and AWS.
• Experience developing and supporting cloud-based SaaS applications.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns and modern engineering practices.
• Experience mentoring or technically guiding other engineers.
• A proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems and make sound technical decisions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Product and business stakeholders.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.

Hybrid role with 2 days per week in the Galway office
