Job summary

Cpl Group partners with a leading global technology organisation to hire a Principal Digital Design Engineer. Join our team in Ireland to drive micro-architecture for Automotive Microcontrollers and lead DSP/mixed-signal IP design.

Based in Cork or Dublin with hybrid work up to 60% remote, you will mentor engineers, ensure RTL flows, and collaborate with global architects to push cutting-edge automotive semiconductor technology.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of digital micro-architecture and design experience.
• Hands-on RTL design with HDL languages.
• Experience with mixed-signal IP development and/or DSP blocks.
• Knowledge of Functional Safety and cybersecurity standards (ISO 26262, ISO 21434).
• Proficient in Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog.
• Experience with Synthesis, Lint, CDC, RDC, and STA.
• Proficient in Perl or Python scripting.
• Fluent English with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define micro-architectures and develop designs for Automotive Microcontroller families, focusing on mixed-signal IPs and DSP blocks.
• Collaborate with architects to assess feasibility, refine ideas, and contribute to innovation.
• Ensure quality checks (Lint, Synthesis, DFT, etc.) are completed using appropriate tools.
• Work closely with design and verification teams to ensure high-quality delivery.
• Mentor junior designers and provide ongoing technical guidance.
• Analyse workloads to identify performance and power optimisation opportunities.
• Collaborate with global teams, requiring strong communication and influencing skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Define micro-architectures and develop designs for Automotive Microcontroller families, with a focus on mixed-signal IPs and DSP blocks
• Collaborate with architects to assess feasibility, refine ideas, and contribute to innovation
