Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking an Executive Director, Principal Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of scalable cloud-native platforms. You will work across AWS/Azure/GCP, establish AI-enabled workflows, and mentor teams while shaping platform standards and security considerations.

You will define reference architectures, govern agentic AI tools, and drive improvements in delivery speed, reliability, and governance across the engineering organization.

Qualifications

• Hands-on expertise in public cloud architecture and platform engineering.
• Experience applying Well-Architected Frameworks across compute, storage, networking and security.
• Design and build internal developer platforms and self-service capabilities.
• Lead distributed systems and REST/gRPC API design.
• Proven track record adopting agentic AI in engineering workflows with governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of cloud-native applications and platforms on public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Define standards for generative AI and agentic AI features for multi-cloud management.
• Architect microservices, event-driven systems, APIs, and distributed cloud apps.
• Govern agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows with guardrails for validation and security.
• Embed AI-assisted development and automation within the SDLC toolchain.
• Drive observability, monitoring, and cost optimization.
• Translate enterprise architecture principles into platform capabilities.
• Partner with architects, engineering, product, risk, and security stakeholders.
