Job summary

CareerWise Recruitment is seeking a Controls & Automation Engineer for our Dublin based client, an award-winning technology company developing very high precision electro/ mechanical optical assemblies.

You will design, test, and document electrical systems, work with cross-functional teams, and contribute to SOPs, wiring harnesses, and BOMs. The role emphasizes hands-on integration, system testing, and troubleshooting across machine modules.

Qualifications

• Level 8 Degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in controls, automation, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Design, update, and manage complete 2D electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring harness drawings using SolidWorks Electrical.
• Author clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for hardware assembly, testing, and maintenance.
• Hands-on wiring, component integration, and bench testing of controls hardware and sensors.
• Assist in physical system construction, experimental setups, debugging, and electrical fault-finding on complex machinery.
• Work closely with mechanical, software, and optics teams to ensure seamless hardware integration across all machine modules.
