Munster Technological University (MTU) Cork Campus is inviting applications for a TU-RISE Postdoctoral Researcher in Data Engineering within the inTRUSTED project. The role, based at MTU Cork Campus Bishopstown, is a 24-month fixed-term contract reporting to the Nimbus Research Group Lead.

The project aims to advance trust in digital ecosystems through distributed policy management and edge-cloud coordination.

Qualifications

Hold a PhD in a relevant discipline at the contract start date.
Fluency in English with excellent written and oral presentation skills.
Strong software development and testing skills.
Desirable: experience with data spaces, policy governance or federated data spaces.

Responsibilities

Conduct a programme of research under the guidance of a PI/Project Leader.
Research and develop data spaces, distributed policy management, data protection and privacy.
Publish findings in top-tier journals and conferences.
Design experiments and build proof-of-concept implementations.
Collaborate with industry partners and policymakers to translate research.
Mentor PhD students and junior researchers; assist in training materials.
Assist in grant writing and dissemination of results.
Contribute to interdisciplinary collaborations and policy-oriented impact.
