Job summary

Jensen's Plumbing & Heating Ltd in Langley, BC is seeking a skilled plumber for permanent, full-time work at various locations including residential, commercial and institutional sites. Responsibilities include installing and repairing plumbing fixtures, reading blueprints, preparing tenders, marking layouts, and supervising other workers.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience, an Apprenticeship or trade certification, and the ability to work on-site with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or trade certification in plumbing.
• Knowledge of blueprints and drawings.
• Experience in domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing.

Responsibilities

• Install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems.
• Repair domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems.
• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems.
• Prepare tenders and quotations.
• Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors.
• Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
• Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment.
• Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
• Supervise other workers.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Operate CADD and other computer software systems.
• Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size.
