Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Platform Architect 2 to design and deliver scalable internet infrastructure aligned with security, performance and availability standards. You will collaborate with application teams and global stakeholders to produce high-level requirements and architectural artifacts.

The role requires hands-on experience with network fundamentals, cloud technologies and middleware, plus strong leadership and communication skills to drive complex projects across regions.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of network, operating system principles and web middleware.
• Thorough knowledge in one or more core functions related to internet infrastructure design and/or web administration.
• Advanced knowledge of load balancers and web application firewalls.
• Working knowledge of cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture principles and Network Micro‑segmentation.
• Experience working with YAML based deployments.

Responsibilities

• Generating requirements with other architects, engineers, and users to ensure high level requirements are met.
• Creating architectural products like TADs, technical documents, logical flows, and models to keep stakeholders aligned.
• Maintaining architectural artifacts in current state and preventing obsolescence.
• Resolving internet architectural and operational problems impacting infrastructure and product availability.
• Researching and evaluating new technology for potential deployment in Mastercard’s infrastructure.
• Leading regional projects with planning, cost control, and resource utilization responsibilities.
• Implementing and supporting internet infrastructure components following current standards.
• Performing diagnostics, tuning, capacity planning and configuration management for internet components.
• Ensuring stability and future compatibility by monitoring production systems.
