Wilton Scrap Metals Cork Limited in Cork, Ireland, is seeking a Plant Mechanic to start immediately at their facilities. The role covers maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant machinery used in waste management and recycling operations.

Candidates should have 2-3 years of relevant experience, be able to read technical drawings and schematics, and work safely in accordance with health, safety and environmental regulations. Training will be provided on the job.

• 2-3 years of proven Plant Mechanic experience.
• Reading technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and troubleshoot effectively.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and service plant machinery used in waste management and recycling.
• Perform regular maintenance and safety checks on conveyors, mixers, pumps, crushers, and batching systems.
• Identify and repair issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure safe operations.
• Lubricate and replace worn parts; ensure equipment is in good working condition.
• Monitor stock levels of spare parts and assist in installation/upgrades when needed.

Job Description

Our client, Wilton Scrap Metals Cork Limited, based in Co. Cork, is currently seeking Plant Mechanics for immediate start at their facilities in Co. Cork.Qualifications:2-3 years' Plant Mechanic experience required. Mechanic Certification preferred but not essential. There are no minimum academic requirements. Further training will be provided on-job as required.General Duties / Responsibilities / Experience:To maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and service machinery and equipment used in waste management, recycling and related activities.To ensure that all plant machinery is operating efficiently and safely, to minimize downtime, and to support the overall productivity of the plant.To perform regular maintenance checks on plant machinery, including mixers, conveyors, pumps, crushers, and batching systems.To conduct preventative maintenance tasks to extend the life of equipment and minimize breakdowns.To lubricate machinery, replace worn parts, and ensure all components are in good working condition.To identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in plant equipment and diagnose problems accurately.To repair or replace faulty parts, ensuring that all machinery is returned to full operational capacity in a timely manner.To perform both scheduled and emergency repairs to minimize downtime.To ensure all work is conducted in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.To maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections performed on plant equipment.Essential knowledge includes mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as the ability to diagnose and fix issues promptly to ensure smooth plant operationsEssential knowledge includes strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge, ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals, and excellent trouble-shooting and problem solving skillsEssential skills include application of relevant health & safety and environmental legislation, performance of system checks and adjustments on machinery, and monitoring of inventory supply for required equipmentCandidates must be competent to assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment or upgradesCandidates must be competent to monitor stock levels of spare parts, tools, and equipment needed for maintenance and order parts and supplies as neededA mechanic qualification or certificate is a bonus but is not mandatory2-3 years' of proven relevant experience as a Plant Mechanic is required.Experience in a waste/recycling environment is a plusAnnual Remuneration: €36,605.00; Pay rate €18.05 per hourWork Location: Wilton Scrap Metals Cork Limited, Forge Hill, Airport Road, Cork, Co.
