Job summary

Quarry and Mining Equipment Ltd is seeking a Construction Plant Fitter to join their underground maintenance team in Navan, County Louth. The role requires individuals who can work with complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in a dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate will perform maintenance on mobile equipment and have at least 4 years’ experience in construction plant fitting. Benefits include a company pension and on-site parking. The job is full-time with a salary of €55,000.00-€60,000.00 per year.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in construction plant fitting or diesel mechanics.
• Full clean driving licence.
• Experience with mining equipment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, emergency, and predictive maintenance on mobile equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair all equipment, minimizing downtime.
• Complete all required documentation accurately.
• Liaise with management on ongoing repairs and planned maintenance.

Job description

QME are currently recruiting Construction Plant Fitters/ Mechanic's to join our expanding underground maintenance team. The role is suitable for motivated individuals who are capable of working with complex mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems in a fast-paced mining environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Carry out preventative, emergency, and predictive maintenance of mobile equipment.
• Troubleshoot with respect to repair of all equipment, whilst ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum.
• Maintain a high standard of Health & Safety during maintenance work.
• Complete all required documentation accurately.
• Liaise with cross shift and Management on all ongoing repairs and all planned maintenance that is required.
• Role will be shift work rotating 5 on 5 off days and nights working 10.5hr shifts.

Qualifications/ Experience:

• FAS mechanical diploma/ Trade certificate.
• At least 4 years’ experience in construction plant fitting/ Diesel mechanics.
• Full clean driving licence.
• Experience in mining equipment advantageous.
