Job summary

Orange Recruitment in Dublin is seeking an experienced Plant Mechanic to service, repair and maintain a diverse fleet of plant and access equipment. You will diagnose faults, carry out scheduled maintenance and work efficiently to minimise downtime.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair a wide range of plant, access and construction equipment.

• Respond to equipment breakdowns and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
• Assess machinery condition and identify potential issues before they become major faults.
• Work closely with colleagues to prioritise repairs and ensure workshop efficiency.
• Maintain accurate service records, repair reports and parts usage information.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety procedures.
• Liaise with equipment operators and supervisors to gather information and resolve technical issues.
• Keep up to date with developments in plant technology, servicing methods and industry best practice.

• Previous experience maintaining and repairing plant machinery, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, HGVs or similar heavy-duty vehicles.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose faults independently.
• Experience working on diesel-powered engines and associated systems.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting.
• Good problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to repairs.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
• Comfortable using digital systems to record maintenance activities and job information.
• Full, clean driving licence.
