Job summary

Hilton Food Group is seeking a Planning Manager to lead the onsite planning team in Drogheda. This role focuses on capacity planning, demand forecasting, and coordinating production schedules with logistics and procurement.

You will work closely with demand planners to maintain a rolling 52-week outlook, flag opportunities for spare capacity, and communicate issues in sales and operations planning meetings. On-site role with standard working hours and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

  • Excellent experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • Forecasting experience in a planning or supply chain role.
  • Experience working with retail customers is preferred.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Review forward plan to identify capacity constraints and opportunities for cost-effective planning.
  • Create a Sales and Operational planning template for the site forward plan.
  • Manage seasonal plans to ensure delivery at planned cost.
  • Coordinate demand for on-site logistics resources and resolve pinch points.
  • Maintain regular communication with demand planner, planners and schedulers.
  • Develop and maintain an effective production schedule for efficient planning.
  • Communicate with Operations and Logistics to keep capacity models accurate.
  • Attend DRM 3 and Planning meetings and report site service levels daily.
  • Support site NPD meetings to align with upcoming product changes.
  • Lead 1-1s and development plans for planners and schedulers.
  • Maintain relationships with procurement to ensure supply and minimize write-offs.

Working hours: Monday – Friday, Monday- Thursday: 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM, Friday: 8:00-3:30PM, 39 hours

Whatwe are looking for:

We are looking for a professional and experienced Planning Manager to manage the onsite planners and raw material schedulers to ensure we have the most cost effective and efficient plan. To work closely with the demand planner to generate and manage a rolling52 week outlook of capacity demands and effectively communicate any opportunities for spare capacity and potential issues when looking short of capacity via a sales and operational planning meeting.

Key responsibilities asa Planning Manager will be to:
  • To look at the forward plan (short and long term) to understand capacity constraints/opportunities to ensure we are planning in the most efficient and cost effective way
  • To generate a comprehensive Sales and Operational template to guide the site through the forward plan
  • To manage seasonal plans using the tools we have to ensure effective delivery at the planned cost
  • To manage the demand and requirement for the logistics resources on site (NAWI, Manual warehouse) and manage any pinch points
  • Effective daily communication with demand planner, planners and material schedulers to discuss short, medium and long term horizon
  • To generate and keep updated an effective production schedule to allow efficient and cost effective planning
  • Regular communication with Operations and Logistics to ensure the capacity models are reflective of current performance
  • Attendance at the daily DRM 3 Meeting and Planning Meeting
  • Reporting Site Service level on a daily basis and annotating to ensure we have clarity around recovery plans
  • To participate in site NPD meetings to ensure full visibility of any upcoming product changes
  • To manage the planners and raw material schedulers, ensuring they are having regular 1-1’s and personal development plans
  • To maintain a close relationship with the procurement buyers to ensure we have consistent supply and minimal write off’s
Requiredexperience/expertise to succeed as a Planning Manager will include:
  • Excellent experience and proficiency of Microsoft Office specifically Excel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Experience in forecasting
  • Experience in working with a retail customers
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
