TGS International Group is currently recruiting for an experienced Planning Manager – MEP to join a long-established M&E building services organisation delivering major projects across Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe.

This is a senior leadership position responsible for leading the planning function across major MEP projects, ensuring high-quality programme delivery, strong P6 governance and consistent planning standards across the business.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical planning expertise with proven team leadership, programme governance and stakeholder management experience.

The Role

As Planning Manager, you will:

  • Oversee progress reporting and ensure accurate programme updates.
  • Integrate design, procurement, construction and commissioning programmes.
  • Provide planning input across major mechanical and electrical packages.
  • Support delay analysis, Extension of Time (EOT) submissions and Time Impact Analyses (TIA).

  • Allocate planners across projects and monitor the quality of their programmes.
  • Coach, mentor and develop planners within the team.
  • Work closely with Operations, Project Managers, Engineering, Commercial and Site teams.

  • Challenge programme assumptions and ensure schedules remain technically credible.
  • Interpret MEP drawings, specifications and system information to support realistic programme logic.

The organisation delivers technically complex MEP projects across sectors including:

  • Pharmaceutical
  • Semiconductor
  • Energy

Data Centre experience is advantageous, but the key requirement is substantial experience

planning large and technically complex MEP packages.

What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years' experience in construction planning, with significant MEP/building services experience.
  • Proven experience operating at Planning Manager or equivalent senior level.
  • Ability to build, interrogate, audit and govern complex programmes.

  • Ability to challenge Project Managers and senior stakeholders constructively.
  • Comfortable presenting programme information to senior management and clients.
  • Strong understanding of MEP drawings, specifications and system information.
  • Experience working across major, high-value MEP projects.
The Opportunity

This is a genuine Planning Manager position, rather than a Senior Planner role with a management title.

You will have the opportunity to lead a planning function, influence project delivery, improve planning governance and work across some of the most technically demanding MEP projects in Ireland and Europe.
