Job summary

Dornan invites applications for its Planning Internship Programme 2027. Successful candidates will be placed on projects in Ireland, the UK and Mainland Europe, gaining hands-on experience in a live construction environment.

As a Planning Intern you will train on the job under the supervision of a Senior Planner, contributing to project controls, scheduling, progress measurement and labour analysis on real projects.

Qualifications

• Working towards a Construction Management or related Degree.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Develop Project Controls Systems: set up WBS, PMS, schedule, S- curves and manpower histograms; baseline the schedule.
• Implement the Project Controls systems.
• Progress measuring of all works, direct & Sub-Contract, using the Dornan bespoke PMS.
• Monitor labour hours and analyse labour efficiencies.
• Update project schedule in Primavera/ASTA.
• Systems turnover tracking.
• Monitor delays and client notifications as required.

We are now inviting applications for our Planning Internship Programme 2027.

Successful candidates will be placed on projects in Ireland, the UK and Mainland Europe.

As a Planning Intern with Dornan, your training will be fully on the job under the supervision and mentorship of a Senior Planner in a live construction environment. To ensure you are getting the best experience possible we have curated an internship which will help you reach your full potential within the role.

Your day to day will include:

• Development of the Project Controls Systems specific to the Project including: Setting up WBS; Set up Progress Measurement System (PMS); Develop the Schedule, S-Curves and Manpower Histograms ; Cost Loading of Programs (as required); Baseline the Schedule


• Implementing the Project Controls systems


• Progress Measuring of all works, Direct & Sub-Contract, using the Dornan bespoke PMS


• Monitoring of labour hours & Analysis of labour efficiencies


• Updating project schedule in Primavera/ASTA


• Systems Turnover Tracking


• Monitor delays & client Notifications as required

What we are looking for:

• Offers will be issued in November of 2026, and following this you will be assigned to your project location.
