Job summary

Cheeverstown House is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist two gentlemen living in Johnstown, Co. Kildare, helping them lead active, community-based lives.

You will promote independence, engage in meaningful conversations, and support attendance at sports events and social activities. Applicants should have a Level 5 QQI in Social Care, a full driving license, and strong communication and IT skills.

Qualifications

• : FETAC/QQI Level 5 Major Award in Social Care/Healthcare (all 8 modules completed).
• - Knowledge of the Health Act 2007 and HIQA Regulations.
• - Full, clean driver’s license and willingness to drive.
• - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including good listening.
• - Person-centered approach and understanding of individual needs.
• - Flexibility to work in all areas of Resident Services.
• - Commitment to improving lives of people with intellectual disabilities and autism.
• - Good IT and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

• : Provide person-centred support to two gentlemen in Johnstown, Co. Kildare.
• - Assist with community participation, social activities, and attending events.
• - Drive to activities and support meetings, swimming and recreational pursuits.
• - Empower and encourage independence, confidence, and social connections.
• - Maintain a welcoming, respectful home environment and document activities as needed.
