Job summary

Grant Thornton Ireland is hiring an Assistant Manager to join our Payroll Team. This role advances end-to-end payroll delivery for a diverse client portfolio and requires strong technical knowledge and a focus on compliance.

You will support weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls, act as the main client contact, and help mentor junior staff while contributing to process improvements. Strong organisational skills and accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• 4 years' payroll experience in a bureau or professional services environment.
• IPASS qualification desirable.
• Strong knowledge of Irish payroll legislation (PAYE, USC, PRSI, BIK).
• Experience with ROS & EFT processes.
• Proficient with payroll systems and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end processing of weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls for a portfolio of clients.
• Act as the primary point of contact for client payroll queries, ensuring high service levels.
• Ensure payrolls are processed in compliance with Irish payroll legislation and Revenue requirements.
• Support the Payroll Manager by mentoring junior team members and driving improvements.
• Provide technical payroll expertise within Employment Tax and contribute to projects as required.
