Job summary

Accenture Ireland is seeking an Experienced Senior Java Engineer / Lead with hands-on experience in payments domain and ICON IPF to support the delivery of large-scale payment systems. The role involves hands-on development within modern, cloud-based architectures and close collaboration with major banking clients.

You will lead design, development and implementation of microservices-based applications using Java 17+, Spring Boot, and AWS, and provide technical leadership to development teams

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years of hands-on Java engineering experience in payments or banking environments.
• Experience leading design, development and delivery of microservices-based payment solutions.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 20022 payments is a plus and experience with IPF is desirable.
• Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and work with cross-functional teams in Agile Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and implementation of microservices-based payment applications.
• Provide technical leadership, review code, and promote quality engineering practices.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners and QA to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and support continuous improvement across the team.
