Job summary

Cork Pastry Kitchen in Cork is seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join a busy kitchen operation. You will produce high-quality desserts, pastries and baked goods while maintaining excellent standards.

The successful candidate will be organised, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a busy team. Key skills include strong pastry and baking ability, attention to detail, HACCP knowledge and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Pastry Chef within a hotel, restaurant, bakery or high-volume catering environment.
  • Strong pastry, dessert and baking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and presentation.
  • Good knowledge of HACCP and food safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and produce a wide range of desserts, pastries, breads and baked goods to a consistently high standard.
  • Ensure presentation, taste and quality meet the required standards at all times.
  • Assist with the development of new desserts, seasonal menus and pastry offerings.
  • Manage daily preparation and production requirements efficiently.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory control.
  • Minimise food waste and ensure effective portion and cost control.
  • Ensure all ingredients are stored, labelled and rotated correctly.
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene and HACCP standards throughout the pastry section.
  • Ensure the pastry section is clean, organised and fully prepared for service.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team to ensure smooth service.
  • Maintain consistency during busy periods while working efficiently and calmly.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety and food safety procedures.
