Job summary

Crosscare is seeking a Youth Worker for the East Wicklow Youth Service serving Arklow, Wicklow Town and Rathdrum. The 30-hour part-time position includes evenings and Saturdays and carries a permanent contract under Crosscare's Youth Work programme.

The role focuses on delivering youth-centric, outcomes-driven programmes with direct contact with young people and outreach activities supported by funding requirements and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• 3rd level degree in Youth Work or related discipline required.
• Minimum 1 year’s experience in the sector is advantageous.
• A full clean driving licence and own transport is essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Youth Work programmes and interventions based on Crosscare’s approach.
• Spend 70% of work hours in direct contact with young people.
• Establish new programmes and projects as required.
• Work evenings and Saturdays as required; deliver outreach to engage youth.
• Organise residentials and participate in training relevant to the work.
• Manage challenging behaviours and situations; adhere to funding requirements.
