Job summary

Kids Inc is recruiting a Part-Time Deputy Manager for our Afterschool service at Gaelscoil Shliabh Rua in Dublin 18. The role focuses on leading a team in an Irish-speaking environment after the school day, ensuring a safe, engaging program where children can learn and enjoy their afternoon.

Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of experience with children, supervisory experience, fluent English, strong Irish language skills, and be willing to complete Garda Vetting and references.

Qualifications

• Good level of spoken Irish (Gaeilge) – Essential.
• Minimum of 1 year's professional experience working with children.
• Previous supervisory, senior, or leadership experience in childcare or related setting.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Willingness to complete Garda Vetting and reference checks.
• A relevant childcare or teaching qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Centre Manager with day-to-day operation of the Afterschool service.
• Assist with planning weekly programmes, games, and activities.
• Lead, support, and motivate team members to deliver a high-quality service.
• Encourage children and staff to communicate in Irish throughout the afternoon.
• Ensure staff are informed of daily and weekly plans.
• Support children's social, emotional, physical, creative, and language development.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, school staff, and colleagues.
