Job summary

O’Hehirs in Westside Galway is hiring a part-time cleaner to maintain a clean, hygienic cafe environment after trading hours, including bathrooms, floors, glass and counters. You will perform a nightly deep-clean of kitchen equipment to support food safety and shop standards.

The role offers evening shifts (6pm to 8pm), across five days per week; the café is open seven days a week, with weekday and weekend coverage required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a deli or similar customer-facing role is an advantage.
• Friendly, approachable personality with a genuine passion for customer service.
• Someone who enjoys working as part of a team and brings a positive, enthusiastic attitude to work every day.
• An interest in developing a career in hospitality and a willingness to learn and grow.
• Barista training or experience preparing quality coffees and other hot beverages is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, hygienic, and presentable premises after trading hours, including bathrooms, floors, glass, and counters.
• Nightly rotating deep-clean of kitchen equipment (oven, deep fryer, dishwasher) to support food safety and shop standards.
• Sweep & mop all areas; empty bins; refilling supplies as needed.
• Sign off on cleaning checklist each evening.

WE ARE HIRING A PART TIME CLEANER FOR OUR CAFE IN WESTSIDE GALWAY!!

O’Hehirs is a well-established, family run business in food and bakery based in Sligo with a chain of shops spanning Sligo, Donegal, Mayo, Galway, Longford, and Westmeath and are expanding services and products offered all the time.

The Role:

As a Cleaner you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, and presentable premises after trading hours, including bathrooms, floors, glass, and counters, plus a nightly rotating deep-clean of kitchen equipment (oven, deep fryer, dishwasher) to support food safety and shop standards.

Working hours:

6pm - 8pmp.w - The café is open 7 days a week, you will be working across 5 days. Being able to work weekdays and weekends will be required. Evening shifts only.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, taps, mirrors, refill soap, paper towels, toilet roll; empty bins; mop floor
• Sweep & mop all areas
• Deep clean oven, deep fryer and dishwasher each evening
• Sign off on cleaning checklist each evening.

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience in a deli or similar customer-facing role is an advantage, but not essential. If you've worked in a similar role full-time for six months or more, we'd love to hear from you.
• A friendly, approachable personality with a genuine passion for providing excellent customer service.
• Someone who enjoys working as part of a team and brings a positive, enthusiastic attitude to work every day.
• An interest in developing a career in hospitality and a willingness to learn and grow.
