Job summary

Seetec Group in Longford seeks a Local Area Employment Service Caseworker on a part-time basis to guide, inspire and motivate clients toward sustainable work. You will deliver motivational support, provide careers advice and run CV and job-search workshops, helping people overcome barriers and build confidence.

You will assess needs, create personal progression plans, meet regularly with clients and liaise with local employers to broker opportunities.

Qualifications

• Leaving Certificate standard (as a minimum). A level 7 qualification or working towards is desirable but not a pre-requisite.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in an employment activation, recruitment, training, career coaching or counselling role, preferably with long term unemployed clients farthest from the labour market.
• Knowledge of barriers such as mental health, addiction, homelessness, literacy, confidence, motivation and routine, and how these affect employment.
• Fully IT literate in using a range of Microsoft Office programmes.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of clients, reviewing progress towards employment and maintaining engagement to achieve targets.
• Assess client needs and create a personal progression plan.
• Meet with clients regularly to review progress.
• Deliver one-to-one interventions and run group sessions on CV writing, online job searching, confidence and motivation; liaise with local employers as an intermediary.
• Deliver a high level of customer service at all times.
