Diffney Menswear is opening a new coffee shop on Mary Street, Dublin, and seeks a friendly, experienced barista to join the team. Part‑time hours, €14.15 per hour, with 14–38 hours weekly, in-person role at Mary Street location.

You will prepare and serve excellent coffee and tea, greet customers, manage the till, restock, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety. Experience with espresso machines and grinder dialing is essential.

Qualifications

• Barista experience with commercial espresso machines.

• Reliable, punctual and well-organised.
• Ability to work in a small team and independently.
• Experience in a café opening is welcome but not required.

Part-Time Barista — New Coffee Shop at Diffney

Mary Street, Dublin

We’re opening a new coffee shop within Diffney on Mary Street and are looking for a friendly, experienced barista to join our team.

Diffney is an independent family business known for personal service. We want our coffee shop to have that same welcoming feel—excellent coffee, friendly conversation and customers who look forward to coming back.

Personality matters to us. We’re looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, takes pride in their work and notices what needs doing. You’ll work closely with our Café Manager to help establish the café and keep each day running smoothly.

What you’ll do

• Prepare and serve consistently excellent coffee and tea.
• Welcome customers, take orders and use the till accurately.
• Serve pastries and other café products, keeping displays well presented.
• Help with opening and closing routines.
• Keep the counter, equipment and customer areas clean and organised.
• Replenish stock and flag supplies running low.
• Follow food safety, allergen and cleaning procedures.
• Support your colleagues and take initiative during both busy and quieter periods.

What we’re looking for

• Previous hands‑on barista experience, including using a commercial espresso machine, dialling in a grinder and steaming milk.
• A warm, approachable manner and clear communication skills.
• Reliability, good timekeeping and strong organisational habits.
• The ability to work efficiently and calmly during busy periods.
• Someone who can work as part of a small team and independently when needed.
• Pride in coffee quality, cleanliness and customer service.

Experience in a new café opening would be welcome, but is not essential.
