Job summary

Barden | B Corp is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their Finance team on a part-time basis (Mon-Fri). This hands-on role centers on the monthly close, owning defined areas of the accounts and ensuring accuracy in postings and reconciliations.

You will manage creditors, assist with month-end journals, payroll support, and financial reporting, bringing strong Excel skills and practical experience across accounting systems.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of accounting experience in a similar role.
• Hands-on with month-end processes (accruals, prepayments, reconciliations).
• Strong Excel skills and experience with payroll and reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Owning the timely close and review of the creditors ledger.
• Preparing and posting accruals, prepayments, depreciation and amortisation, and maintaining the fixed asset registers and reconciliations behind them.
• Preparing month-end and group reporting journals, including IFRS-related adjustments where relevant.
• Reviewing P&L cost lines for accuracy.
• Reconciling Relevant Contracts Tax balances.
• Keeping clean, clear supporting documentation for everything you post.
• Processing supplier invoices through the paperless system and chasing approvals.
• Issuing cut-off reminders ahead of month end and processing supplier payments.
• Providing cover for the weekly payroll process during leave or absence.
• Supporting CWPS updates and related monthly payments where applicable.
• Resolving payroll queries and general finance admin as needed.
